Finishing touches on Jackson's room...

Moved the toy bins to this side of his bed, and hung his first soccer jersey.

Moved his dresser under the dirtbike on the wall.

And hung his shelves... Trophies and video games on top, hats and book bags below!

Chopper. :) Brian's going CRAZY watching a KU game. The kids are alternating playing computer games and fighting. Chopper has found his "zone" in all of this chaos just chillin on his bed. Yes, it's a very big bed. I love my Chopper.

Jackson's room is all painted!! Poster hung on the wall, the only thing we're waiting on is for the blue shelves to dry and get a second coat of paint. Here's a couple more pictures of his room.

Here's the beginning of Jackson's new room... I did two walls today, the blue one and one tan. I will do the other two in tan.

Did I mention the rain?!? We're turning the back yard into a swimming pool!

That's supposed to be grass... we have A LOT of clean up work to do!

January 21, 2010

Here's a picture of our Choppy-Boy, with his snout covered in mud from playing in the rain. We got TONS of rain this week - about 2.5" this week, which is A LOT in one week, considering our annual rainfall is about 7" typically.

It's baseball time!!! Jackson's first game of the season is this Friday, so we're working on brushing the rust off of his game a bit. This afternoon, Brian and Jackson played catch out front. His throw is something that we've been focusing on lately.

A little extra...

Here's one more for your viewing pleasure... EVERYONE has been hit by "Pants on the ground" mania, Kierstin included! Here's Kierstin singing the American Idol overnight hit. "Pants on the ground, pants on the ground, lookin like a FOOL with your pants on the ground!"

A little extra...

Since I've been a few days behind, here's a little extra.... A movie of Kierstin singing. :) For those unfamiliar with the song, here's the words: Apple Bottom Jeans, boots with the fur The whole club was looking at her She hit the floor, next thing you know Shawty got low low low low low low low... Yeah, that makes a mama proud. HA HA!

We <3 bank holidays! Mom and Dad are off work, no school for the kiddos!

Today we decided to go up to Sun City and visit (great) Grandpa Archie and (great) Uncle Jon. We went up in the morning, had a buffet on the M&Ms and powdered donuts that Grandpa had set out, then went to Five and Diner for lunch. Good day!

For today, you'll have to trust me...

I took a super cute picture of my kids and Jackson's friend Chase having a movie night at our house. They were watching The Sandlot, gearing up for baseball season that starts this week. :) I realized, however, after I had the picture, that Kierstin wasn't wearing a shirt. Not a huge deal, but not something that I'm going to put on the internet.

So, for today, you'll have to trust me. :)

He's determined! Jackson has a tooth that's loose... the top two, actually. Since he hasn't lost any teeth since he lost the two bottom ones in summer 2008, this is very exciting! Here's Jackson working on his tooth, while Kierstin is worried that he will "break his mouth". :)

January 11, 2010, take two

Here are the photos that I took when we went to visit the new Cowboys Stadium with Chriss from work. It's like Mecca to her. :)

Here she is in front of the fountain, and I tried to get one of the stars in the ring around the roof inside... supposedly, that's important...

Missed a few days here... and the plot thickens. Apparently, when I left Dallas to come home, I left my USB cord in the hotel room! I called the hotel, they have it, they're going to send it to me. Sheesh! Although... we have been saying for QUITE awhile that we need a new camera... Hmmm...

January 11, 2010

Yep, that’s right, I didn’t update the blog today. : )

I did take pictures… but my camera died. Last night, being in Dallas, we went on quite the adventure. One of my coworkers traveling with me is a DIE HARD Cowboys fan (I’m not sure why), so being from out of town she HAD to visit the stadium while here. We drove out there, and before my camera died I did get pics of the new stadium.

But, since I’m traveling for business, and I didn’t bring my camera charger. Sooo… there won’t be new pics for Tues or Wed either, until I get home and get my camera charged.

January 10, 2010

Today I flew to Dallas for some work here this week... One of the benefits of business travel is that sometimes I get to combine it with a personal visit. Such was the case today! This evening, I was able to go to my Aunt Bernie and Uncle Stan's house for dinner, and cousins Tommy and Drew were able to join us as well. I haven't seen them in a few years, so we had a great dinner, and a nice time catching up.

I haven't had the time to crop/edit the pics, so pardon my sloppyness...

Kierstin got a new bike for Christmas from Grandma Cheryl. She got to go to the store with us, and pick out her brand new bike! Before we even got out of the store, she was telling us the reason that this bike has a basket on the front is to deliver cupcakes to George (our next door neighbor). :) So today, we made what I'm sure is the first of many to come cupcake deliveries.

Here are the cupcakes for delivery...

Waiting for him to answer the door...

DELIVERY! (Can you tell Kierstin LOVES her George?!?)

Enjoying their cupcakes together...

So here it is... the first day that I didn't get a picture taken. :) We knew it would happen, it was only a matter of time, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Since I didn't get a picture done Jan. 8th, I decided instead to post some pictures of the new bedding that I bought yesterday for Jackson's room. Recently, Jackson and Kierstin switched rooms, so right now poor Jackson is sleeping in a room with butterflies on the walls! I promised him we'd fix it quickly, and we're going to. I ordered this bedding - DIRT BIKES! - and he is THRILLED!

The second picture that I posted is a HUGE decal that will go on his wall over his bed. I'm going to paint the wall behind his bed the blue in the bedding, and the other three walls the tan color in the bedding. This "shadow" decal will go on the blue wall, and it will look like a darker shade of blue, or a shadow. I think it's going to look really cool! Then, Grandma Cheryl bought him a huge poster with about 50 different dirt bikes for another wall - so he can lay in bed and dream about which dirt bike he will buy someday. :)

I'm really excited to get it done!!

New year, New hair!

I decided to go a bit DARKER this year... Less maintenance, less money spent on hair. :)

So here you see my self portrait with my new hair.

As for the other two pics... My friend Tracie and I always laugh about people who make the "duck face" for their pictures. (Check out www.antiduckface.com for hours of entertainment). So in the second picture, I was taking my duck face to send to Tracie. Kierstin saw me, and said "WHAT are you DOING?" because she knew I looked ridiculous. I told her I was taking funny pics for Auntie Tracie, and she wanted to take one too! So there's me and K with our duck faces.

Posting a day late... oops! This pic was taken yesterday, though. :)

Here's another one of my fashionista (fashionisto?). He's had this hat for quite awhile, and we didn't realize when he got the jacket and tee for Christmas (from Kag) that is was such a good match for the hat!

So he wore the hat to school yesterday (not IN school, only on the way to and from we agreed). He said on the way to school that a girl on his bus wanted to wear it, so he let her... and on the way home a different girl on his bus wanted to wear it... so he let her. After a discussion about how we don't share hats (headlice - EEWWW!) I realized that I've lost him... My second grade boy has two fifth grade girls that wants to wear his hat. You can sure bet he wore that hat to school again today, and my warnings were thrown to the side in favor of cute girls wearing his hat - I'm sure of it!

January 5, 2010, Take Two

I couldn't pass this one up... I guess going to one pre-school class in the morning, and another pre-school class in the afternoon is EXHAUSTING!

January 5, 2010

What? You thought ALL of the pics would be of the kids? :)

Today's picture comes to you from my home office. I'm so blessed to have an amazing job that I love, working for a great company, which I can do AT HOME! Here is where the magic happens... where I spend at least 8 hours out of every day Monday - Friday. I thought about cleaning up a bit before taking the picture, but thought instead that I'd post a dose of reality. Yes, Chopper is right beside me, he spends just as much time in this office as I do! Oh, and please pay no attention to the fact that my hair is pulled back in a ponytail, and I'm wearing sweats, 'cause working at home... that's how I roll!

January 4, 2010

Look at that girl, she's getting SO GROWN UP! Today Kierstin started her first day at her new pre-school. She's keeping a very busy schedule these days - her regular pre-school at the local elementary school 3 days a week, and now an afternoon pre-school at Children's Learning Adventure 5 days a week! The arrangement is a nice alternative (budget wise) to full time child care, but still keeps K busy and out of mama's hair so she can get her work done.

So today on her first day, she barely took the time to say goodbye to mama! She'd been looking forward to starting there for about a month, and she just walked in, put up her backpack, and sat with the other kids for circle time. For mama there was no hug, no kiss, no "see ya later" or even an "adios!". I'm so proud of this girl. (Then I went to the car and cried). HA HA HA!

He's so cool. :) Suddenly, my 7 year old thinks he's 15. I'm not sure how that happened. This is the hat that he BEGGED for forever, and Uncle Andy bought him for Christmas. Also, pictures of him on his skateboard, of course, where he spends the majority of his time outside. I love this boy!

FAMILY GAME NIGHT!

Tonight after dinner we decided to break out one of our Christmas games, Pictureka. We hadn't played before, and found out that we had been missing out! It was lots of fun. We played two games, one was girls against boys, and the other was Mom and Jackson against Dad and Kierstin. Somehow, Mom's teams won both games. :)

January 1, 2010

Can I start off a post titled January 1, 2010, and write the entry on January 2nd? Is that against the generally accepted blog rules? I don't care! This one is MY blog and I will do what I want!! :)

HELLOOOOO 2010! I am going to attempt a 365 photography project this year... My plan is to upload at least ONE photo per day, every day, for all of 2010. This will allow for me to capture some of the "mundane" moments of our lives that we don't want to forget, and will also allow our family - near and far - to keep up with what we're up to in our life.

So... For my January 1st picture, well, I'm already making excuses... HA HA! I took some adorable pictures last night... with my mother in law's camera. She flew back to Montana today, and silly me forgot to download all of the photos. So, those photos have been requested, and will be uploaded soon. :) (Edited to add the pictures! She's quick to get them to me!)

Hopefully this won't be too boring of a blog... but I can count on the grandparents checking in regularly, if no one else.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!
